Daring Bakers, December: Stollen

The 2010 December Daring Bakers’ challenge was hosted by Penny of Sweet Sadie’s Baking. She chose to challenge Daring Bakers’ to make Stollen. She adapted a friend’s family recipe and combined it with information from friends, techniques from Peter Reinhart’s book.........and Martha Stewart’s demonstration.

And because I have to get up for a flight in the morning and I'm already beat and short on time, this will be primarily a picture post until I can edit it later this week Happy Holidays, everyone!

It looks delicious, and I'm curious what you have sprinkled on the dough.

Thanks, everyone!

Jenny and thedaintyapron--those are chunks of dark chocolate-covered marzipan. I was too lazy to make a special trip to buy regular marzipan and didn't feel like making any, but I found this bar of it at a sandwich shop we were grabbing lunch at earlier that day. It worked out beautifully and was so delicious!
